Turning the Table on Hunger


With Chef Andrew Eskridge, head of culinary development for 84 Hospitality Group, at the lead, the crews from Empire Slice HouseGorō RamenRevoluciónPonyboy, and the Burger Punk invaded the kitchen at the Day Shelter today. They paired what the Day Shelter had on hand with donations from Savory Spice Shop, Sysco Oklahoma, and Schwab Meat Co to make a meal that will be hard to top! Hand battered and friend chicken tenders, smoked pulled-pork sandwiches, loaded mashed potatoes topped with bacon, herbs, and a crushed potato chip topping, mac ‘n cheese with a bread crumb topping, roasted veggies, and a salad. The guests loved it! Complements to the Chef and all who donated, volunteered, and came together to make this Turning the Table on Hunger event a success!

The Day Shelter prepares breakfast and lunch and serves an average of 350 people each day.
